Additives

We offer and develop chemical auxiliaries, which are used to alter the specific properties of our customers process fluids. These additives can be used to optimize rheological properties of solutions if this is demanded by the production processes.

For example our liquefier solutions effectively replace water additions to ceramic slurries allowing higher solid contents. A high solid content reduces the amount of water that has to be evaporated in the following drying process. It additionally gives the green body improved mechanical properties with reduced porosity.

Product – etaFlux

Our etaFlux additive was specifically developed to modify the rheological properties and the solid content of slurries. The liquefier wraps around the particles and the surface becomes hydrophobic. Steric repulsion forces ensure that the slurry remains flowable with a lower water content. If there are defects in the zeta potential of the batches, these are also compensated. In this way, the best possible solid content without sedimentation is achieved with optimal rheological properties.
The aim is to reduce the necessary water content of the slurry and to compensate for given initial product variations. A high solids content ensures that less water has to be evaporated in the subsequent drying process and to save drying energy costs. Drying processes speeds can be accelerated in this way without the risk of drying cracks. Due to the increased solid content the porosity and shrinkage of the product are reduced while increasing the mechanical strength. Thus the addition of etaFlux can further increase the quality and reproducibility of your product.

The application of this additive needs to be specifically evaluated for individual products.
